Corbin Bleu in “Jump In!”

Posted on December 29th, 2006 in Corbin Bleu News

The New York Post recently posted an article about Corbin Bleu in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Jump In!”, stating how they hope it will become as successful as “High School Musical”. This is what they said:

Instead of kids staging a musical, “Jump In!” revolves around a promising teenage boxer, Izzy Daniels - played by teen-idol-handsome Corbin Bleu - who discovers a love for competitive double Dutch jump roping in his Brooklyn neighborhood.

This disappoints his dad, Kenneth (played by Bleu’s real-life father, David Reivers). The father is an ex-boxer who wants Izzy to follow in his footsteps and compete in the Golden Gloves.

Oh yeah, there’s also a blossoming romance between Izzy and his double Dutch teammate, Mary (Keke Palmer) - who grudgingly asks Izzy to join after another teammate defects to a rival.

I think the movie will be good, but I can’t see it surpassing “High School Musical” in terms of popularity.

Corbin Bleu Question and Answer Session

Dallas News recently did a Q&A session with Corbin Bleu, which you can read below (click “continue…” to view the full Q&A):

What was the first night of High School Musical: The Concert tour like?

The whole day I was fine. It wasn’t hitting me yet. Then about 20 minutes before we started, when I could hear all the people outside, it hit me. I did something I shouldn’t have done. I looked out at the people. I started pacing and thinking: “I can’t do this. I can’t believe we’re gonna do this.” Then the music started.

And I was looking at my cast mates, and we were all holding hands and smiling, and the second we went out we heard screams. When you have all those people adoring what you’re doing, it’s the best feeling in the world. The whole show we were in show mode, but we kept looking at each other like, “I can’t believe we’re doing this!” (continue…)

Jump In! Features a Cincinnati Double Dutch Team

Posted on December 14th, 2006 in Corbin Bleu News

Cincinnati Double Dutch Teams are featured in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Jump In”. Check out what Cincinnati.com had to say:

“Jump In!,” a Disney Channel made-for-TV movie starring members of Cincinnati-area competitive double Dutch teams, is set to air at 8 p.m. Jan. 12.

Members of four local teams are featured in the movie: the Rope Twisters and Bobo’s Beanie Babies from Greater Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Ropin’ Rockets and the Comet Skippers from Mason.

I figured they just trained people to be in the movie, but that’s cool that they used actual teams for it!
